“The camp is an amazing place the whole family loved it”
I would just like to say thank you very much for our stay. The camp is an amazing place the whole family loved it. It's in one of the most stunning places of natural beauty. We couldnt believe how close the waterfalls are to camp. The woods make an amazing place to camp the children loved looking for deer and all the other animals. I've reccommended this camp site to everyone who asked how our weekend was. You are one of the nicest people we have had the pleasure of coming across. Once again thank you : )

“We miss the views already and the dark skies”
I want to say thank you for last weekend. You have a lovely farm and the planted woods are a real credit to you and that you share for camping is truely wonderful. It was just what we needed and were lucky enough to see some bats, red kite, rabbits galore and your woodpecker - although they were ellusive when our cameras were ready and to hand!. We miss the views already and the dark skies. We will definitely be back.

"I can't recommend this gem of a campsite enough, i stayed on my own (single female) and i have neer felt safer"
I can't recommend this gem of a campsite enough, i stayed on my own (single female) and have neer felt safer. Annie is an absolute diamond, she is an amazing woman, and a pleasure to talk to. The campsite views are stunning, not to mention the wildlife surrounding you, Aysgarth Falss are a beautiful walk away or a short drive, you have to visit them!! Needless to say i will definitely be coming back to this gorgeous site again and again. And i cannot wait to see it in summer.

"As we walked through the trees we saw deer, rabbits and birds"
Immediately on arrival, we knew it was going to be a good stay as we were greeted by owner Annie, who is fantastically characterful. Annie showed us through the gates and into the young, beautifully natural protected woodland. c There were various secluded clearings in the large woodland where you can setup camp. The view was superb and the freedom to camp anywhere, forage for wood and ‘go back to basics’ whilst still being on a ‘campsite’ was something we haven’t experienced in England.

"We loved our stay at Wensleydale Camping. We felt we had a proper wild camping experience but with the luxury of a big tent and fire, and no worry of being told to move on"
We loved our stay at Wensleydale Camping. We felt we had a proper wild camping experience but with the luxury of a big tent and fire, and no worry of being told to move on. The peak offers a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise and sunset and the woodland is filled with deer, rabbits and pheasants which we were lucky to see lots of during our stay. The campsite feels very secluded with no houses around. We look forward to returning again and feel it is somewhere we will keep revisiting. Thanks for a wonderful stay and i am sure we will be back soon.

"For anyone who wants to get away from the hum-drum of life and connect back to nature then this is the perfect camp site."
We really enjoyed our camping. We were met by a very nice lady called Annie and was aksed to follow her down to the camp site. Annie explained eveything about the site where the water tap was and toilets. Also the local sites to see and where we could get a pub meal which was just a short walk past the falls. The site is very peaceful with the sound of the falls and the bird song. There was only one other family camping in the area we were, so there was plenty of spcae around us. For anyone who wants to get away from the hum-drum of life and connect back to nature then this is the perfect camp site. It's certainly a camp site that we intend on revisiting again soon.

"A wonderful escape in a great setting. It's a real wild camping experience and you even light your own fires."
A wonderful escape in a great setting. Friendly host on arrival and we loved the remote feel to the site. It's a real wild camping experience and you even light your own fires. The river is a stones throw away and the kids had a fab time running around and exploring the surroundings. Thank you for a lovely stay.

"We enjoyed a great campfire where we had hot chocolate and told each other ghost stories"
Thank you, we really enjoyed ourselves at your campsite. The highlights for us were the brilliant views and walks roundabout, the falls and especially the peace and isolation when the sun went down, when we made the most of the fire wood. We enjoyed a great camp fire where we had hot chocolate and told each other ghost stories. We had bats flying about and the hooting of an owl to add to the atmosphere. You took good care of us and we had everything we needed. We will be back next year."

"My son was very pleased with three wild deer eating outside our tent"
Myself and my son spent just one night at St Joseph's Wood and it was wonderful, we were met by Annie who was lovely and very helpful. She then showed us to a pitch which was great and if you like wild camping, like we do, you wont be dissaointed. It's right next to the Falls with great views and walks and my son was very pleased with three wild deer eating outside our tent. It's a great place to practise bushcraft and we will definitely be returning.

"We barbecued until the early hours and walked down to the close-by Aysgarth Falls"
Just wanted to say thank you and to say that we had a really great time during our camping weekend at Manor Grange campsite. Our aim when looking for a venue searching the internet, to hold a mini reunion of friends and family, was to find a campsite that was free of the 'normal rules' for example 'no campfires' or 'lights out at 10pm' and 'no noise after a similar time'. Moreover, we wanted to be close to walking areas and beautiful scenary (oh and pubs!). Manor Grange ticked all of these boxes. Wilst we were blessed with superb weather (no rain!), i am sure we would have enjoyed the site whatever mother nature had decided to throw at us. We essentially had the site to ourselves. BBQ'ed until the early hours, walked down to the close-by Aysgarth Falls and also the beautiful village of West Burton where we had a very nice lunch and liquid refreshments. The logs suppleid on arrival enabled a cracking camp fire and we utilised the wood's, twigs / fallen branches to keep ot alight - one member of our party became a professional at stoking the fire! We all agreed that we would come back very soon as it was such a lovely place. I would definitely reccommend this site for those campers who want to get back to nature and to the basics of a real camping experience. Thanks again.

"Can't wait to go back - This is the perfect back to nature site"
I recently camped at the stunning location of St Joseph's Wood, Aysgarth Falls and can't wait to go back. Within minutes of arrival and being shown around by Annie, we saw deer and rabbits. Bats in the evening and a stunning night sky. A short walk to the beautiful waterfalls and a lovely little cafe not far away (The Mill Race Tea Shop). There is nothing more relaxing than a short break camping in woodland and this is the perfect back to nature site. Sitting around a nice warm campfire in the evening chatting with friends. We look forward to staying in the future."

"The views from the camp are stunning - I would recommend this site to anyone"
"We loved every minute of our stay. Camping at Manor Grange was a delightful experience; perfectly situated a short walk from Aysgarth Falls and a short drive to the Forbidden Corner, this back to nature experience is ideal for those looking for a peaceful yet adventurous getaway. The views from the camp are stunning, and there is plenty of firewood around to collect. We had the camp to ourselves which was great, but there was also plenty of room for others. Having chemi-loos and running mains water was also a big bonus! Annie the host was very helpful and accommodating, and i would recommend this site to anyone."

"[We] enjoyed building a den (pictured left) and cooking our food on the fire and wild animal spotting"
"My son and I really enjoyed our adventure. The main criteria for our camping trip was a secluded site that allowed some freedom to light fires and visit the Falls. The Manor Grange site certainly ticked all of the right boxes. The site itself was easy to find yet totally secluded and tranquil with only the sound of the Falls and wild life breaking the silence. My son and I stayed for two days and enjoyed building a den (pictured left) and cooking our food on the fire and wild animal spotting. Should you need some civilisation, Aysgarth Village is within walking distance as are the famous Aysgarth Falls which are accessible on public footpaths directly from the site. The site is exactly as described on the website, and Annie was extremely helpful from booking to departure. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get back to nature looking to get away from it all."

"We had the whole site for our group - and made it into a mini festival - there was no issue about noise - we can't wait to go back!"
"Fantastic place and the owners are so friendly and helpful. The first time we stayed was with family it was perfect to get the kids enjoying the outdoors, building fires, collecting wood, toasting marshmallows and singing campfire songs. The owners are so lovely they let you get on with it as long as you respect the grounds were you are staying. Annie even brought us milk down to the campsite as we had ran out. The grounds are beautiful and so tranquil. The second stay was with a large group of young adults if you are looking for a site to really live in the wild this is perfect, we had a campfire and made it into a mini festival and as a large group there was no issues about noise. We really had a brilliant time and can't wait to go back! I really loved that you can have the whole site for just your group. Aysgarth Falls is also a short walk which makes a lovely day out of camp! 5 out of 5!! :-) in my eyes it was the perfect camp site!!!. Thanks again for our stay it was truly amazing."

"Absolutely loved it and are definitely coming back!"List Item 1
"We have been camping all over Scotland for many years - if i had to pick a campsite this would be it. We absolutely loved it and had a really good time. We are definitely coming back - I have already picked a secluded location in the trees to set up our camp next time! Looking up at the stars at night in the clear sky was gorgeous. Thanks for putting a smile on all our faces!"

"We will definitely use your camp again for Gold expeditions"List Item 2
"The Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Members really appreciated the solitude of the site, and the ability to have a small camp fire really lifted their spirits after a very long hard day walking. They even brought steak to cook on the open fire. Given the option, they said they would prefer to stay in St Joseph's Wood with the solitude of the camp fire, rather than at the previous site with modern toilet black and showers! Thanks for all your help - we will definitely use your camp again for Gold expeditions"

"back to nature camping in peaceful beautiful surroundings"List Item 3
"Thanks once again for allowing us to camp last week it was amazing . This campsite is everything we could have asked for. We wanted back to nature camping in peaceful beautiful surroundings and that is exactly what we got. We took our two young boys along with us and they had a great time. We enjoyed it so much that we are booking in again instead of our usual place in [Swaledale]. Absolutely brilliant - thanks Annie!

"[the Children] thoroughly enjoyed being able to run around, gather firewood and toast marshmallows on the fire"
"We really enjoyed it. Everyone we met involved with the site was friendly and helpful. We were made to feel welcome immediately. The site itself was in a lovely, tranquil clearing. We felt safe and happy to let the children have their freedom and get completely wrapped up in the wild camping experience. They thoroughly enjoyed being able to run around, gather firewood and toast marshmallows on the fire. Would and have already recommended this site to more than one person! Great wild experience! Thank you again for everything we had a fab time and will be coming back!"

"It was the perfect compromise to camping in England, giving us the opportunity to legally wild camp with beautiful locations close by"
We really enjoyed our time at your woodland. Seeing deer within minutes of getting there and so many wild abbits. It was the perfect compromise to camping in England, giving us the opportunity to legally wild camp with beautiful locations close by. You were an amazing host and all your help when we arrived as well as when we left was very much appreciated. The site was stunning, and been able to camp wherever we like on your land was great. We cannot wait to come back, and hope it will be soon. We enjoyed the peace and been left alone, something you don't get in a campsite!! Aysgarth Falls been so close was veyr much an added bonus and proved to be a lovely afternoon walk. Thank you and see you again soon!
